Spectators: 7258 (Terracing: 5633, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Luís Fábio Faria took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the game, Kauã Sá cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lenílson Terra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zadilinos's Luís Fábio Faria was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 13th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Emerson Goiano charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emerson Goiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute, one of Zadilinos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zadilinos. Zadilinos:s Lenílson Terra showed great skill when he stopped Fernandinho Fernandez:s penalty. After some careless play in the Zadilinos defense, Paulinho Cunha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lenílson Terra. The Zadilinos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lenílson Terra should have stopped the shot. Luís Fábio Faria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Ernesto Cerezo made a huge save. Red BuL Sao Carlos's Ernesto Cerezo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Red BuL Sao Carlos from getting a goal against them. 28 minutes into the match, Paulinho Cunha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lenílson Terra. Zadilinos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulinho Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Zadilinos were furious when Emerson Goiano was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Red BuL Sao Carlos. Fernandinho Fernandez stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lenílson Terra. 1-4. Ernesto Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Macedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Zadilinos's Beto Luz got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 45th minute, Zadilinos's Beto Luz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ernesto Cerezo. Ernesto Cerezo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. Eriberto Macedo struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Ernesto Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zadilinos. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulinho Cunha made a kick off. Red BuL Sao Carlos's Ernesto Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Luz in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulinho Cunha got free with Lenílson Terra in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ernesto Cerezo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fábio Faria in the 64th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Kauã Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red BuL Sao Carlos's supporters rose to their feet, but Kauã Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lenílson Terra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Zadilinos's zone, Paulinho Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lenílson Terra came out of the goal and Paulinho Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulinho Cunha got free with Lenílson Terra in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Zadilinos booed when Red BuL Sao Carlos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandinho Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luís Fábio Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Zadilinos's goalkeeper Lenílson Terra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulinho Cunha. In the 92nd minute, Tiburcio Gizon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Red BuL Sao Carlos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Red BuL Sao Carlos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
