C.'s Valério de Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Alpha F. C. from getting a goal against them. After 9 minutes of play, Red BuL Sao Carlos's Paulinho Cunha made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valério de Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alpha F. C.'s Pedro Augusto Prata managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alexsandro Guedes in the 18 minute of the game. In the 20th minute Laércio Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Red BuL Sao Carlos's goal looked a bit too open when Yusuf Tokuş came free, but Ernesto Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th match minute, Alpha F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. After 34th play minutes Yusuf Tokuş shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Ernesto Cerezo and just under the crossbar into goal. When Paulinho Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Red BuL Sao Carlos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulinho Cunha couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã Sá in the 38th minute of play forced Alpha F. C.'s goalkeeper Valério de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yusuf Tokuş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 43 minutes into the match, Red BuL Sao Carlos's goal looked a bit too open when Yusuf Tokuş came free, but Ernesto Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46thth minute of the game Yusuf Tokuş who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Red BuL Sao Carlos's Ernesto Cerezo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yusuf Tokuş made a kick off. Eliézer de Medeiros hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulinho Cunha in the 53rd minute of play forced Alpha F. C.'s goalkeeper Valério de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bertil Gustafsson hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Ernesto Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yusuf Tokuş in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute Paulinho Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yusuf Tokuş could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Ernesto Cerezo made a huge save. In the 72nd minute, Paulinho Cunha made a precise shot to the right of Valério de Medeiros. Alpha F. C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Valério de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Alpha F. C.'s zone, Kauã Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valério de Medeiros came out of the goal and Kauã Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alpha F. C. made a substitution. Wágner Messias replaced Per Gunnarsson. Alpha F. C.'s Valério de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Tepedino in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauã Sá in the 85th minute of play forced Alpha F. C.'s goalkeeper Valério de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute Yusuf Tokuş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Augusto Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Cerezo having to interfere.
