In the 7th minute of the match Linhares F.C. got a corner. Mazela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Donato Freire ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Donato Freire got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edu de Salles quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Edinho de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linhares F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Edinho de Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edu de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 9 minutes of play, Linhares F.C.'s Donato Freire made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edu de Salles was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Linhares F.C.'s Alan Queirós got control of the ball when Adilson de Queiroz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alan Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adilson de Queiroz in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Lara in the 21st minute of play forced Linhares F.C.'s goalkeeper Alan Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Linhares F.C. booed when Mazela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbson Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alan Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Nunes in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Dé Queirós cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Edu de Salles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Donato Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Nunes in the 41st minute of play. Edu de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Dé Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu de Salles having to interfere. Dé Queirós took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edu de Salles. Edu de Salles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After the first half Linhares F.C. were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 52 played minutes Mazela got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Sarmento. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donato Freire in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edu de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alan Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alan Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After taking down the ball on Mazela's corner Claudinho Toscano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alan Queirós quite easily take care of the ball. Linhares F.C.'s Alan Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Décio Donato in the 67th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Dé Queirós could shoot a difficult shot in the 69th minute, which Edu de Salles however easily saved by the left post. 74 minutes into the match, Hugo Nunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alan Queirós. Linhares F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hugo Nunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After 78 minutes, Vicente Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mazela and the Linhares F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mazela's Vicente Lara got a free kick in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Freire in the 80th minute of play forced Linhares F.C.'s goalkeeper Alan Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Vicente Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alan Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Róbson Freire in the 85th minute of play. After 97 played minutes Mazela got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Lara. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Linhares F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
