Kléber Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12th minute, Cesinha de Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dráusio de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Gernando Rossi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19thth minute of the game Luisinho Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corinthians-PR's Cléberson Secco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Cesinha de Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corinthians-PR's protests and gave Cesinha de Andrade a yellow card for diving instead. Ronaldão Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléberson Secco having to interfere. If Ronaldão Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luisinho Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cesinha de Andrade was the one to do the kick off. The Corinthians-PR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cléberson Secco should have stopped the shot. Cléberson Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kléber Queirós in the 76th minute of the match. When Oeste Barueri Andrade's Wellington Quadros in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
