Praia Grande MZC's Hortêncio Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Vasconcelos in the 9th minute of play. Jefferson Guerra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hortêncio Gonçalves came out and tried to block the shot, but Jefferson Guerra slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 12th minute. Vladimir Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Claudio Borghi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The crowd rose to their feet as Pereirao's Claudinho Mandrak slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hortêncio Gonçalves. That made the score 3-0 after 32 minutes of play. When João Augusto Vides fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Praia Grande MZC's protests and gave João Augusto Vides a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes Praia Grande MZC got a freekick which was hit by João Augusto Vides. In the 89th minute Jefferson Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hortêncio Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hortêncio Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute.
