The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sílvio Fernandes hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Sílvio Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Barreto having to interfere. Álvaro Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Edu Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedrão Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Didi Alvarenga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kléberson de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi Alvarenga in the 24th minute of the match. Edu Barreto was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Sílvio Fernandes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sílvio Fernandes really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 34th minute, Pedrão Corrêa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jaguaricatu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Kléberson de Medeiros came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Jaguaricatu's Pedrão Corrêa. But to his dismay, Pedrão Corrêa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 46th minute of the match Cristian Pitta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kléberson de Medeiros skillfully saved the ball. Álvaro Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Pedrão Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Zé Augusto Paraibano fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Paulista 1999's protests and gave Zé Augusto Paraibano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jaguaricatu booed when Racing Paulista 1999 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Cristian Pitta sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Racing Paulista 1999's Kléberson de Medeiros didn't even have to move. Kléberson de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Racing Paulista 1999's Sílvio Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Racing Paulista 1999's Sílvio Fernandes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edu Barreto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 67 minutes, Álvaro Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Paulista 1999's supporters crossed their fingers, but Álvaro Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jaguaricatu's Pedrão Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kléberson de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrão Corrêa in the 74th minute of the match. After 80 minutes, Nico Ceresso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing Paulista 1999 and the Jaguaricatu players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes Racing Paulista 1999 got a freekick which was hit by Nico Ceresso. With an all-out effort, Jaguaricatu's Kléberson de Medeiros threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pedrão Corrêa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 88th minute Sílvio Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Didi Alvarenga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Racing Paulista 1999's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão Corrêa came free, but Kléberson de Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Fausto Lima, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Edu Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Fernandes in the 97th minute of the match. The Racing Paulista 1999 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Jaguaricatu's performance. The match ended with a win for Jaguaricatu.
