Só Canela FC's Maicon Mendonça started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Só Canela FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Mané Silva hit a great ball. Pedrão Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Didi Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jaguaricatu's supporters rose to their feet, but Didi Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso de Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Afonso de Queirós was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Didi Alvarenga showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. The supporters of Só Canela FC booed when Jaguaricatu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavinho Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Só Canela FC's Afonso de Queirós got control of the ball when Didi Alvarenga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maicon Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edu Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Afonso de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renato Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Edu Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso de Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Didi Alvarenga in the 40th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maicon Mendonça in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edu Barreto saved Jaguaricatu from getting behind. Afonso de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon Mendonça in the 45th minute of play forced Jaguaricatu's goalkeeper Edu Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edu Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maicon Mendonça in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedrão Corrêa was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi Alvarenga in the 54th minute of play forced Só Canela FC's goalkeeper Afonso de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Pedrão Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edu Barreto made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Maicon Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 60 in the game by Maicon Mendonça from a close distance when the talented Edu Barreto managed to make a qualified save. Jaguaricatu's players were relieved. In the 64th match minute, Jaguaricatu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Goiano to maneuver through the defense. Edu Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renato Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maicon Mendonças short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Edu Barreto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some careless play in the Jaguaricatu defense, Romário Aguiar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edu Barreto. The Jaguaricatu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edu Barreto should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the game, Válter Cruz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jaguaricatu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Só Canela FC the free kick. A collision led to Jaguaricatu getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Válter Cruz hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Válter Cruz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonso de Queirós. Só Canela FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Válter Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 94 minutes into the game, Jaguaricatu's Válter Cruz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Afonso de Queirós made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jaguaricatu fans cheered their team off the field, for while Só Canela FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
