The MAIS TRADICIONAL FC fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when MAIS TRADICIONAL FC's Andrézinho Coelho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 18 played minutes MAIS TRADICIONAL FC got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Furlan. If Jefferson Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Andrade hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. If Claudinho Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélio Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Gustaw Domaradzki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vladimir Couto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nelson Albuquerque having to make a save.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hélio Braga made a kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pereirao's goalkeeper Gustaw Domaradzki, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Claudinho Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pereirao's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rômulo Diniz in the 68th minute. Nelson Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 played minutes Pereirao got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Albuquerque. After recieving a nice pass, MAIS TRADICIONAL FC's Claudinei Cunha tried to score from far away in the 82nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 84th match minute, MAIS TRADICIONAL FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrézinho Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Nelson Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 91 minutes into the match, MAIS TRADICIONAL FC's Hélio Braga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustaw Domaradzki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle went the supporters of MAIS TRADICIONAL FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Pereirao side.
