Aílton Pinheiro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Walmir Barral showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. In the 11th minute Hernani Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hortêncio Botelho came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Aílton Pinheiro could save by the left post. In the 16th minute, Marcinho Félix made a precise shot to the right of Christiano Nunes. Varjoia SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Hortêncio Botelho charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hortêncio Botelho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hernani Brito in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christiano Nunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Marcinho Félix came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the TOP CORINTHIANS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcinho Félix couldn't finish the play. Christiano Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcinho Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Hortêncio Botelho took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aílton Pinheiro. Aílton Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Aílton Pinheiro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho Félix in the 40th minute of play forced Varjoia SC's goalkeeper Christiano Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Marcinho Félix made a precise shot to the right of Christiano Nunes. Varjoia SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcinho Félix to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Varjoia SC's César Lara got a free kick in the 55th minute. Francisco Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Christiano Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Hernani Brito notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Varjoia SC's Christiano Nunes. Christiano Nunes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rd minute of the match Fábio da Fonseca shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christiano Nunes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. César Lara charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed César Lara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st minute, César Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the game, Varjoia SC's Walmir Barral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aílton Pinheiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. If Hernani Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Hernani Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TOP CORINTHIANS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hernani Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
