In the 11th match minute, Tubarão EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. Rubens Batista stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tuur Raeymakers's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Tuur Raeymakers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 minutes, Albertinho Souto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tubarão EC and the Soneca AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuur Raeymakers in the 22nd minute of play forced Tubarão EC's goalkeeper Rubens Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Mauro Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tubarão EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauro Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th match minute, Soneca AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito do Valle to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Soneca AC's Rubens Batista threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tuur Raeymakers, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tuur Raeymakers was the one to do the kick off. Gilvan Miranda hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Magno Carvalho in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubens Batista saved Tubarão EC from getting behind. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Tuur Raeymakers sped through Tubarão EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rubens Batista. Cristóvão Rosa charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristóvão Rosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristóvão Rosa hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 66 minutes into the match, Soneca AC's goal looked a bit too open when Ediberto Gaspar came free, but Wiliam Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tuur Raeymakers came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Soneca AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tuur Raeymakers couldn't finish the play. If Tuur Raeymakers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78thth minute of the game Tuur Raeymakers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tubarão EC's Rubens Batista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
