Spectators: 5001 (Terracing: 4001, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sidnei Reis kicked off to start the match. Suns's Clemente Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidnei Reis in the 3rd minute of play. In the 8th minute, Ademar Severo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clemente Mendonça was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 15th minute, Alberto Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdo de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Pirani having to interfere. When Valdo de Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Suns fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo de Medeiros couldn't finish the play. Noel da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Noel da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Juan Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Suns's Noel da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juan Pirani came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Suns's Valdo de Medeiros. But to his dismay, Valdo de Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 36th minute Alberto Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel da Fonseca in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Noel da Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Noel da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan Pirani was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. After 46 minutes, Sidnei Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Acarai and the Suns players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Acarai getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Sidnei Reis hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Noel da Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Clemente Mendonça was a little too slow when Ademar Severo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdo de Medeiros in the 59th minute of play forced Acarai's goalkeeper Juan Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Suns's Noel da Fonseca in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Acarai's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Noel da Fonseca in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Pirani saved Acarai from getting behind. Clemente Mendonça was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Angelo de Brito. Dé de Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dé de Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Acarai's Alberto Vianna couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 75th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Suns. 78 minutes into the game, Guga Batista recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Clemente Mendonça. Guga Batista showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Clemente Mendonça was a little too slow when Ademar Severo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 1-5. In the 87th minute, Noel da Fonseca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Suns fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. Dé de Brito hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Suns's Clemente Mendonça got control of the ball when Ademar Severo tried to sneak it across the goal line.
