Evaristo Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Dragões Vermelhos's Antônio Gomes got a free kick in the 5th minute. Tiago Meira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 6th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 14 played minutes Ferraria EC got a freekick which was hit by Gerson Senna. Alan Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Andrézinho Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrézinho Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Dragões Vermelhos booed when Ferraria EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Meira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eusébio Santana succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 20th playminute. Alan Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giuseppe Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dragões Vermelhos's Alan Donatello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Proença in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, Ferraria EC's Evaristo Varela got control of the ball when Eusébio Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alan Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivo Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Eusébio Santana took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Evaristo Varela. Evaristo Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 36 played minutes Ferraria EC got a freekick which was hit by Andrézinho Ramalho. When Eusébio Santana came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Dragões Vermelhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusébio Santana couldn't finish the play. After 41 played minutes Ferraria EC got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Rosa. Jacinto Veiga struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Evaristo Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dragões Vermelhos. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Giuseppe Pereira was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Dragões Vermelhos's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Pereira came free, but Alan Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ferraria EC's goalkeeper Evaristo Varela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ferraria EC's Evaristo Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Santana in the 69th minute of play. Evaristo Varela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eusébio Santana went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 74th minute of the match Antônio Gomes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evaristo Varela skillfully saved the ball. In the 75th minute, Eusébio Santana made a precise shot to the right of Evaristo Varela. Ferraria EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. 78 minutes into the game, Arí Loyola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dragões Vermelhos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ferraria EC the free kick. Arí Loyola hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Evaristo Varela came out of the goal and Eusébio Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute of the match Lucas Salles shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evaristo Varela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alan Donatello was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Giuseppe Pereira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Giuseppe Pereira really showed his touch with that goal: 5-1. Dragões Vermelhos's Arí Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ferraria EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
