Cruz Gene started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the game, Succatha's Nicolas de Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roberto Batista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Roberto Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustão Brodel in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the game, Fernando Rossi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Roberto Batista was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roberto Batista had in the 17thth minute some difficulties stopping Cristian de Carvalho's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Roberto Batista came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Succatha's Nicolas de Godoi. But to his dismay, Nicolas de Godoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 22 minutes into the match, Faustão Brodel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roberto Batista. Vila Nova F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Faustão Brodel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Roberto Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustão Brodel in the 27th minute of play. Roberto Batista was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd minute, Nicolas de Godoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Succatha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Roberto Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Faustão Brodel made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Faustão Brodel notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of Vila Nova F.C's Roberto Batista. Roberto Batista was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Nicolas de Godoi took a quick shot and it went in 0-9 without a chance for Roberto Batista to make any attempt to save it. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roberto Batista showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Roberto Batista was a little too slow when Jorge Lara got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 0-11. Vila Nova F.C's Roberto Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Recife in the 80th minute of play. Vila Nova F.C's Roberto Batista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Vila Nova F.C from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Faustão Brodel put it in 0-12 from a short distance just to the right of Roberto Batista. 88 minutes into the match, Vila Nova F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Brodel came free, but Roberto Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Batista was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Dida Recife capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dida Recife really showed his touch with that goal: 0-13.
