The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cruz Gene was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrão Leme in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roberto Batista saved Vila Nova F.C from getting behind. Lucas Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Roberto Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Vila Nova F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Vitinho Ramos came free, but Roberto Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
