Edgard Pontes's late challenge caught a Itapua AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgard Pontes helped the player get up and apologised. Itapua AD's Sidney Lima was substituted for Antônio Carlos Sarmento. Edgard Pontes hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Dênis Breckenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulinho de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Itapua AD fully deserved thier win.
