Dagoberto Albuquerque hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Caetano Cerezo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miguel Pirani. Sorocaba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caetano Cerezo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Miguel Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arlindo Lima in the 22nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arlindo Lima in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Miguel Pirani saved Sorocaba from getting behind. Geraldo Capixaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Vivaldo Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sorocaba's zone, Arlindo Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Pirani came out of the goal and Arlindo Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Arlindo Lima fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Miguel Pirani, passed just outside the right post. If Geraldo Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jailson da Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Sorocaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jailson da Fonseca couldn't finish the play. When Jailson da Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sorocaba's protests and gave Jailson da Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Verdes SS booed when Sorocaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 48 played minutes Verdes SS got a freekick which was hit by João Silveira. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arlindo Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arlindo Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Pirani having to interfere. Arlindo Lima struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Miguel Pirani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verdes SS. Vivaldo Motta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jailson da Fonseca in the 64th minute. Arlindo Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Pirani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caetano Cerezo went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 79th match minute, Verdes SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magno Prado to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geraldo Capixaba in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vivaldo Motta saved Verdes SS from getting behind. João Silveira hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. The long shot by André Hoffmann in the 88th minute really tested Vivaldo Motta's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Vivaldo Motta didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 90th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Miguel Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Cerezo in the 94th minute of play. Verdes SS's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
