Pato City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 22 minutes into the match, Pato City's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo Mangueira came free, but Luís Paulo Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Paulo Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. William Cardoso's late challenge caught a Pato City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. William Cardoso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute, William Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Paulo Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Moreno in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Medeiros in the 37th minute of play forced Pato City's goalkeeper Luís Paulo Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Vivaldo Mangueira made a precise shot to the right of Luís Paulo Paraense. Pato City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. William Cardoso scored 0-5 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Paulo Paraense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th minute Tomás Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Tomás Medeiros took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Luís Paulo Paraense to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Kléber Moreno kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luís Paulo Paraense. That made the score 0-8 in the 84 minute of play. In the 87th minute, Kléber Moreno fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The Piracuruca fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when Piracuruca's Tomás Medeiros looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-9 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vivaldo Mangueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Luís Paulo Paraense made a huge save. In the 93rd minute Cícero de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo Meira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Piracuruca's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
