Sorocaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itaci the free kick. After 23 played minutes Sorocaba got a freekick which was hit by Délio Almeida. Miguel Pirani came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Itaci's Mauro Meirelles. But to his dismay, Mauro Meirelles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jailson da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Marcelo Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardinho Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Eduardo Lira struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Marcelo Donatello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sorocaba. Bernardinho Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Itaci getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Gilvan Soeiro hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geraldo Capixaba made a kick off. Leandro Porto lost his temper 51 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Itaci:s Marcelo Donatello showed great skill when he stopped André Hoffmann:s penalty. Jailson da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Donatello having to interfere. Marcelo Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson da Fonseca in the 57th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Itaci's Bernardinho Pena got a free kick in the 61st minute. Miguel Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardinho Pena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Itaci's Luís Paulo Favoretto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Geraldo Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Itaci's zone, Geraldo Capixaba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Donatello came out of the goal and Geraldo Capixaba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardinho Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Geraldo Capixaba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Donatello was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Marcelo Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernardinho Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Itaci players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Sorocaba from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
