Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Mauro Meirelles took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Meirelles in the 3rd minute of play forced Verdes SS's goalkeeper Vivaldo Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vivaldo Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After some careless play in the Verdes SS defense, Bernardinho Pena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vivaldo Motta. The Verdes SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vivaldo Motta should have stopped the shot. If Caetano Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Verdes SS defense, Bernardinho Pena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vivaldo Motta. The Verdes SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vivaldo Motta should have stopped the shot. In the 21st minute, Arlindo Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When João Silveira fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verdes SS's protests and gave João Silveira a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Verdes SS got a freekick which was hit by João Silveira. Bernardinho Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardinho Pena in the 32nd minute of play forced Verdes SS's goalkeeper Vivaldo Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 minutes, Caetano Cerezo made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Itaci's Marcelo Donatello tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 40 played minutes Arlindo Lima rounded Itaci's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caetano Cerezo got free with Marcelo Donatello in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 48 minutes into the match, Bernardinho Pena notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Verdes SS's Vivaldo Motta. Vivaldo Motta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Verdes SS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Itaci were winning 2-3.

After a rather tough play, Itaci's Bernardinho Pena got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 58th minute, João Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Bernardinho Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaci's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardinho Pena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vivaldo Motta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Verdes SS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Mauro Meirelles scored to the left of an out of position Vivaldo Motta, making the score, 2-4. Vivaldo Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauro Meirelles received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vivaldo Motta came out and tried to block the shot, but Mauro Meirelles slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 68th minute. Bernardinho Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Vivaldo Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Verdes SS's Vivaldo Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Meirelles in the 73rd minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Verdes SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bernardinho Pena fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Caetano Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Marcelo Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Itaci's zone, Arlindo Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Donatello came out of the goal and Arlindo Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Itaci supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Itaci would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
