Leandro Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeu de Amaral in the 29th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hernani Trigo during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Mellinho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Trigo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Mellinho FC booed when Bonival was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee gave Bonival a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Oswaldo Rosado, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mellinho FC's Adhemar Tande. 2-1. Leandro Loureiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeu de Amaral in the 44th minute of play. After 46 minutes of play, Bonival's Marcos Jacinto made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adhemar Tande was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Jacinto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Faustão Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson de Toledo in the 58th minute of play forced Bonival's goalkeeper Leandro Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 minutes of play Mellinho FC's Romeu de Amaral was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 60th minute, Romeu de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 61 minutes, Oswaldo Rosado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bonival's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswaldo Rosado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 63 minutes, Juan Saldanha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mellinho FC and the Bonival players grew even worse after the yellow card. 62 minutes into the game, one of Mellinho FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Jacinto in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adhemar Tande saved Mellinho FC from getting behind. Adhemar Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswaldo Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After a rather tough play, Bonival's Eliseu Paranaense got a free kick in the 85th minute. Erasmo Paiva charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erasmo Paiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Erasmo Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Mellinho FC's Adhemar Tande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Jacinto in the 98th minute of play.
