With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horácio de Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Patativa booed when Luverdense Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hermínio Batista struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Horácio de Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patativa. Zé Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Amaral having to interfere. Diogo Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Horácio de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horácio de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Pedro Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Pedro Simões blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horácio de Medeiros having to make a save. 35 minutes into the game, Diogo Godoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Horácio de Medeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Bertassi in the 39th minute of play forced Luverdense Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Horácio de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Hermínio Batista notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Luverdense Esporte Clube's Horácio de Medeiros. Horácio de Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Diogo Godoi scored 0-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Horácio de Medeiros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Eduardo Albuquerque made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, Patativa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Massa to maneuver through the defense. The Patativa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Zé Pedro Simões recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Dorian Pirani fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luverdense Esporte Clube's protests and gave Dorian Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Dorian Pirani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Luverdense Esporte Clube booed when Patativa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Luverdense Esporte Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Patativa were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
