Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Mellinho FC's Hernani Trigo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Romeu de Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mellinho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Romeu de Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Prata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th match minute, Cibauma AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the match, Cibauma AD's goal looked a bit too open when Romeu de Amaral came free, but Sílvio Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romeu de Amaral in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sílvio Prata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 10 minutes into the match, Cibauma AD's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Trigo came free, but Sílvio Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Romeu de Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Hernani Trigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sílvio Prata was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Cibauma AD's Sílvio Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Trigo in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute Hernani Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute Mellinho FC were awarded a corner. Geovanni Marquez went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Romeu de Amaral almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cibauma AD's Sílvio Prata did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséias Queirós in the 23rd minute of play forced Mellinho FC's goalkeeper Adhemar Tande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute of the match Cibauma AD got a corner. Mellinho FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Delfim Figueiredo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Cibauma AD's André Luís Lopez getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 27th minute, Romeu de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sérgio da Cunha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adhemar Tande read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Sérgio da Cunha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Adhemar Tande when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oséias Queirós in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adhemar Tande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mellinho FC's Adhemar Tande proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Mellinho FC from getting a goal against them. Hernani Trigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the game, Cibauma AD's Sérgio da Cunha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adhemar Tande made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 48 minutes, Benjamin Paulista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mellinho FC and the Cibauma AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Delfim Figueiredo shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oséias Queirós to make the kick off. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Romeu de Amaral got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to Cibauma AD getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Amadeu Vinhas hit a great ball. Amadeu Vinhas hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 66 played minutes Cibauma AD got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Figueiredo. After recieving a nice pass, Mellinho FC's Geovanni Marquez tried to score from far away in the 67th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Cibauma AD's zone, Hernani Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Prata came out of the goal and Hernani Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sílvio Prata made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeu de Amaral in the 84th minute. The supporters of Mellinho FC booed when Cibauma AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luís Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romeu de Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Sílvio Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adhemar Tande came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Cibauma AD's Oséias Queirós. But to his dismay, Oséias Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The supporters of Cibauma AD booed when Mellinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delfim Figueiredo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 99th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cibauma AD could leave the field as winners, despite Mellinho FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
