The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alfredinho Senna's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. In the 15th minute Ian Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betinho Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Social Futebol Clube's Abelardo Pontes got a free kick in the 17th minute. After 18 played minutes, Katchau's Mazinho Nogueira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Betinho Magalhães came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Katchau reached it. Betinho Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir do Vale in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Social Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Alfredinho Senna hit a great ball. Wesley Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Ribeiro in the 29th minute of play forced Social Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Betinho Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Social Futebol Clube were furious when Marcinho Montenegro was red carded, 31 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 30 minutes into the game, one of Social Futebol Clube:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Social Futebol Clube:s Betinho Magalhães showed great skill when he stopped Olavo Urbano:s penalty. Betinho Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Ribeiro in the 42nd minute of the match. After the first half Katchau were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Katchau's Ian Garcia pulled a muscle in his leg after 53 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Breno Guedes during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 54th minute, Breno Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Betinho Magalhães made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Mário Ribeiro sent off a good shot on target. Betinho Magalhães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmir do Vale in the 59th minute. In the 77th minute Mazinho Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betinho Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Fernandinho Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Social Futebol Clube defense, Mário Ribeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Betinho Magalhães. The Social Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Betinho Magalhães should have stopped the shot. Váldson Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Katchau's Mário Ribeiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Betinho Magalhães. That made the score 0-5 after 94 minutes of play.
