The Só Lamento fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Só Lamento's Rodrigo Faria looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luís Gustavo Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Paiva in the 13th minute of play. Mellinho FC's Adhemar Tande proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Mellinho FC from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute, Só Lamento's Rodrigo Faria dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 19 minutes into the match, Mellinho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Renatinho Mineiro came free, but Adhemar Tande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Mellinho FC's Adhemar Tande got control of the ball when Luiz Cardozo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Gustavo Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernani Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Só Lamento getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Jacinto Teixeira hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes, Mellinho FC's Geovanni Marquez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luís Gustavo Leão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mellinho FC reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Renatinho Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Só Lamento's supporters rose to their feet, but Renatinho Mineiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adhemar Tande breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luiz Cardozo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Adhemar Tande skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 34th match minute, Só Lamento was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafim Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. Rodrigo Faria was slow to take the kick. During this time Só Lamento's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Só Lamento's Jacinto Teixeira getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Luiz Cardozo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Adhemar Tande skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 44th minute, Erasmo Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renatinho Mineiro in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adhemar Tande saved Mellinho FC from getting behind.

When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Renatinho Mineiro sped through Mellinho FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Adhemar Tande. 62 minutes into the match, Só Lamento's Rodrigo Faria broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 63 played minutes Só Lamento got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Teixeira. Luís Gustavo Leão made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Geovanni Ceresso sent off a good shot on target. Renatinho Mineiro charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renatinho Mineiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rodrigo Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Adhemar Tande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Cardozo in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adhemar Tande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 76 minutes into the match, Mellinho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Cardozo came free, but Adhemar Tande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Só Lamento! The referee gave Mellinho FC a penalty, 81 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Geovanni Marquez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Só Lamento's Luís Gustavo Leão. 3-2. Só Lamento were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mellinho FC for a fine match.
