Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Mathias Pombal made the kick off which started today's match. Benjamim Cerezo came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Mellinho FC's Hernani Trigo. But to his dismay, Hernani Trigo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Falcão Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adhemar Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias Pombal in the 12th minute of play. Mellinho FC's Romeu de Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivo Aguiar hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Erasmo Paiva's late challenge caught a Taipinha AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erasmo Paiva helped the player get up and apologised. 25 minutes into the match, Mathias Pombal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Adhemar Tande, 1-2. Hernani Trigo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benjamim Cerezo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Taipinha AD's Benjamim Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Trigo in the 40th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Taipinha AD's Mathias Pombal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adhemar Tande. That made the score 2-2 after 43 minutes of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hernani Trigo was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Romeu de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamim Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Mellinho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Pombal came free, but Adhemar Tande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Hernani Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 61 played minutes Mellinho FC got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson de Toledo. In the 62nd minute of the match Zé Carlos Mendonça shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adhemar Tande showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Falcão Paiva in the 65th minute of play forced Mellinho FC's goalkeeper Adhemar Tande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Mellinho FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Benjamin Paulista hit a great ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of Mellinho FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Taipinha AD:s goal. Edmílson de Toledo's late challenge caught a Taipinha AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmílson de Toledo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Taipinha AD booed when Mellinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmílson de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Mendonça was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 86th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Taipinha AD getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Haroldo Meira hit a great ball. Adhemar Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Falcão Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
