Through a series of nice moves, Itabapoana SP's Válbson Cosme on his own came free in the 30th minute of the match and shot 1-0 behind a disappointed Luís Fabiano Faria. Luís Fabiano Faria made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerônimo Favoretto in the 39th minute. Josué Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genílson Guerra in the 41st minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Paulão Veloso made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Itabapoana SP's Rafinha Gaspar got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Jerônimo Favoretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Faria having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Itabapoana SP fans cheered their team off the field, for while Macaia SS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
