Nilton Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Luís Fabiano Faria was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Durval Brodel showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 13 minute of play. Nilton Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genílson Guerra in the 17th minute of play. Nilton Pinheiro came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Macaia SS's Genílson Guerra. But to his dismay, Genílson Guerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Raúl Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Faria having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Kalango FC's Luís Fabiano Faria threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pedro Luís Cearense, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aníbal Montenegro's late challenge caught a Kalango FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aníbal Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kalango FC booed when Macaia SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Macaia SS's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Cearense came free, but Luís Fabiano Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Pedro Luís Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kalango FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Luís Cearense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luís Fabiano Faria made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Raúl Torres sent off a good shot on target. Nilton Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton Hoffmann in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute Paulão Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilton Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aírton Hoffmann during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 39 played minutes Macaia SS got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Hoffmann. Nilton Pinheiro came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Macaia SS's Genílson Guerra. But to his dismay, Genílson Guerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Raphael Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 50 minutes on the clock, Delfim Botelho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 49th minute, one of Kalango FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kalango FC. The referee gave Macaia SS a penalty, 52 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Joélson Aparecido, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kalango FC's Nilton Pinheiro. 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinei Medeiros to strike the kick off in the second half. Nilton Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Veloso in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Raimundo Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kalango FC's Nilton Pinheiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Kalango FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Veloso in the 92nd minute of play forced Kalango FC's goalkeeper Nilton Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nilton Pinheiro came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Macaia SS's Genílson Guerra. But to his dismay, Genílson Guerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Nilton Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raphael Ceresso in the 98th minute of play. Raphael Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 101st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Pinheiro having to interfere. In the 102nd minute, Macaia SS's Paulão Veloso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-7. The Kalango FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Macaia SS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
