After 3 played minutes Charqueada EC got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Mendonça. 6 minutes into the game, Franklin Pereira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rubens Neves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Emílio Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Charqueada EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Mendonça couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Azevedo in the 12th minute of play forced Charqueada EC's goalkeeper Rubens Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute Adelino Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charqueada EC's Rubens Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo Matos in the 19th minute of play. Emílio Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Anísio de Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaristo Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Charqueada EC's Rubens Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Azevedo in the 37th minute of play. A collision led to Charqueada EC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Adriano Vargas hit a great ball. Rubens Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adelino Azevedo in the 45th minute of play. When Atininga's Adelino Azevedo in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Charqueada EC's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adelino Azevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Adelino Azevedo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rubens Neves. That made the score 1-3 in the 51 minute of play. Rubens Neves came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Atininga's Adelino Azevedo. But to his dismay, Adelino Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. When Sílvio Luiz Motta fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Charqueada EC's protests and gave Sílvio Luiz Motta a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Atininga booed when Charqueada EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Luiz Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adelino Azevedo got free with Rubens Neves in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emílio Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Franklin Pereira notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Charqueada EC's Rubens Neves. Rubens Neves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Charqueada EC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Adriano Vargas hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adelino Azevedo in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens Neves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Charqueada EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Atininga were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
