Marquinhos Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marquinhos Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Marquinhos Pombal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sílvio Luiz Godoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 20 minutes, Carlos Alberto Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benfica do Imirim SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Alberto Lira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Carlos Alberto Lira got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Luís Gustavo de Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celso Fontes's late challenge caught a Real Mônaco F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celso Fontes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Benfica do Imirim SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Fontes to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marquinhos Pombal was the one to do the kick off. Giovanni Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cato Cavia having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Benfica do Imirim SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Pombal to maneuver through the defense. Wiliam Ramalho struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Cato Cavia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Mônaco F. C.. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Marquinhos Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benfica do Imirim SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos Pombal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Luiz Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Augusto Arósio got a throw-in 80 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Marquinhos Pombal. After 80 played minutes Benfica do Imirim SC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Alberto Lira. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovanni Paraense during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carlos Alberto Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luiz Godoi having to interfere. Hermínio Garcia's late challenge caught a Benfica do Imirim SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hermínio Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th minute, Hermínio Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Real Mônaco F. C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Benfica do Imirim SC.
