In the last second Dito Araújo throw himself and got hold of the ball when Carlos Alberto Pimenta in the 10thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Dito Araújo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Karpinski EC's Ernani Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson de Souza in the 19th minute of play. After 19 minutes, Didi Hoffmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karpinski EC and the ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Karpinski EC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Didi Hoffmann hit a great ball. Edmílson de Souza hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matías Abraão in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dito Araújo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 28 minutes, Enrique Paiva made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Karpinski EC's Ernani Netto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Tião Marinho notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Karpinski EC's Ernani Netto. Ernani Netto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 35 minutes into the game, Karpinski EC's Carlos Alberto Pimenta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dito Araújo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 39th play minute Matías Abraão came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dito Araújo. 3-2. If Carlos Alberto Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dito Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Pimenta in the 44th minute of the match. ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's Dito Araújo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS from getting a goal against them.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tião Marinho to make the kick off. 4-2 became the score in the 51st minute when Matías Abraão elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Alberto Pimenta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. In the 64th minute, Didi Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dito Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías Abraão in the 67th minute of play. In the 67th match minute, ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexsandro Quirino to maneuver through the defense. ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's Dito Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Sabóia in the 68th minute of play. Dito Araújo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matías Abraão's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute.
