Robinho Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Valdomiro Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Gildo Mazza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cavalo Crioulo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crobas EC the free kick. A collision led to Cavalo Crioulo FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Gildo Mazza hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cavalo Crioulo FC's zone, Sandrinho Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Urbano came out of the goal and Sandrinho Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute Alexsandro Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo de Toledo in the 28th minute of play forced Cavalo Crioulo FC's goalkeeper Reynaldo Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás de Lara charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomás de Lara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cavalo Crioulo FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Gildo Mazza hit a great ball. In the 34th minute of the match Dalmo Gaúcho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reynaldo Urbano skillfully saved the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Cavalo Crioulo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edson Salles came free, but Reynaldo Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexsandro Marquez's late challenge caught a Cavalo Crioulo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexsandro Marquez helped the player get up and apologised. Valdomiro Bueno made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Laércio Britto sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laércio Britto was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Cavalo Crioulo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gildo Mazza to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexsandro Marquez in the 57th minute of play forced Cavalo Crioulo FC's goalkeeper Reynaldo Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Cavalo Crioulo FC's Reynaldo Urbano got control of the ball when Geraldo de Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 59 played minutes Cavalo Crioulo FC got a freekick which was hit by Gildo Mazza. In the 61st minute, Alexsandro Marquez made a precise shot to the right of Reynaldo Urbano. Crobas EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexsandro Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Vítor Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Vítor Favoretto took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reynaldo Urbano. Reynaldo Urbano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Reynaldo Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Salles in the 76th minute of play. When Cavalo Crioulo FC's Laércio Britto in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Crobas EC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 82nd minute, José Vítor Favoretto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cavalo Crioulo FC's Reynaldo Urbano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Cavalo Crioulo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 94th minute Alexsandro Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Cavalo Crioulo FC defense, José Vítor Favoretto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo Urbano. The Cavalo Crioulo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Urbano should have stopped the shot. Crobas EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
