The supporters of Santiago FC booed when S.E Paineira Branca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hasan Hüseyin Alkım didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredão Tande hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. If Alfredinho Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. When Dráusio Pernambucano came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Santiago FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dráusio Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hasan Hüseyin Alkım stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Santiago FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Mauro de Sena hit a great ball. After 55 minutes, Raí Capixaba made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Santiago FC's Valdomiro Seco tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 58th minute, Raí Capixaba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When André Luiz Cavalcante came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Santiago FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luiz Cavalcante couldn't finish the play. Valdomiro Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hasan Hüseyin Alkım, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 69 minutes, André Luiz Cavalcante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santiago FC and the S.E Paineira Branca players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Santiago FC's André Luiz Cavalcante got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Hasan Hüseyin Alkım had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Augusto Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Santiago FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. André Luiz Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Edson de Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hasan Hüseyin Alkım could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Valdomiro Seco made a huge save. Dráusio Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson de Azevedo having to interfere. After 96 minutes of play, S.E Paineira Branca's Hasan Hüseyin Alkım made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdomiro Seco was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Santiago FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching S.E Paineira Branca's performance. The match ended with a win for S.E Paineira Branca.
