The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jonathan Furtado made the kick off which started today's match. After 2 played minutes Grêmio PR got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Furtado. Fernandão Reis acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 3rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Sílvio Pombal. Rubens Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Santos in the 8th minute of play. Jonathan Furtado scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubens Ferraz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Grêmio PR's Osvaldo Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Cacá Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trahira's supporters rose to their feet, but Cacá Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandão Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 30 minutes, Paulo Renato Prado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Trahira and the Grêmio PR players grew even worse after the yellow card. Trahira's Rubens Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Furtado in the 33rd minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Jonathan Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio PR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Furtado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Trahira's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Furtado came free, but Rubens Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Trahira defense, Lenílson da Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rubens Ferraz. The Trahira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubens Ferraz should have stopped the shot. Rubens Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Campidelis in the 43rd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cacá Damião stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rubens Ferraz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emanuel Campidelis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 54 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Grêmio PR's Emanuel Campidelis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rubens Ferraz. That made the score 0-6 after 61 minutes of play. 64 minutes into the match, Trahira's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Furtado came free, but Rubens Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Osvaldo Santos could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Rubens Ferraz however easily saved by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Santos got free with Rubens Ferraz in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trahira's Rubens Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Trahira from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute Emanuel Campidelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Emanuel Campidelis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rubens Ferraz, 0-8. Rubens Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuel Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Rubens Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lenílson da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Trahira's Rubens Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Trahira from getting a goal against them. Rubens Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Furtado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the game, Pedro Luiz Lago threw the ball into play from the sideline.
