Erik Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Furtado in the 5th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Grêmio PR's Osvaldo Santos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erik Netto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Osvaldo Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Erik Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Grêmio PR booed when Borralho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osvaldo Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldo Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Erik Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Borralho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan da Mata to maneuver through the defense. Lenílson da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the game, Jonathan Furtado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Erik Netto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Grêmio PR's Emanuel Campidelis got a free kick in the 29th minute. After 33 played minutes Grêmio PR got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Trancoso. After having played for 35 minutes, Osvaldo Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio PR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erik Netto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lenílson da Rocha went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Emanuel Campidelis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erik Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Santos in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Furtado to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Grêmio PR's Osvaldo Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erik Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Grêmio PR's Jonathan Furtado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erik Netto. That made the score 0-4 after 59 minutes of play. 63 minutes into the game, Ronaldinho Koehler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borralho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio PR the free kick. A collision led to Borralho getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ronaldinho Koehler hit a great ball. Jonathan Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Erik Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osvaldo Santos took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erik Netto. Erik Netto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Emanuel Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Erik Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ricardo Veloso fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borralho's protests and gave Ricardo Veloso a yellow card for diving instead. 74 minutes into the game, one of Borralho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Borralho's Erik Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Garcia in the 89th minute of play. Grêmio PR's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
