An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Ceresso in the 6th minute of play forced Variant 1971's goalkeeper Eriberto Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute Jairo Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Arcoverde's Jairo Ceresso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eriberto Chaves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Variant 1971's Luisão Vianna suffered a concussion in the 17th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Arcoverde's Dráuzio Dionísio got his second yellow card of the match in the 17th minute. The referee ordered Dráuzio Dionísio off the ground. João Pedro Abreu charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Pedro Abreu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 24 played minutes Arcoverde got a freekick which was hit by João Pedro Abreu. With his leg Gláuber Rosado managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Variant 1971's Filipe Santos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sidney Rossi in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eriberto Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Filipe Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Rosado having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Cauã Barbosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gláuber Rosado was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Sidney Rossi took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eriberto Chaves. Eriberto Chaves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Filipe Santoss short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Gláuber Rosado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 41 minutes into the match, Arcoverde's goalkeeper Gláuber Rosado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cauã Barbosa. Arcoverde's Jairo Ceresso got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cauã Barbosa made a kick off. Sidney Rossi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Eriberto Chaves made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Variant 1971's zone, João Pedro Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Chaves came out of the goal and João Pedro Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Variant 1971's Eriberto Chaves got control of the ball when Sidney Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Arcoverde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Rossi to maneuver through the defense. After 65 played minutes Arcoverde got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Pernambucano. Filipe Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gláuber Rosado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Filipe Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Gláuber Rosado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauã Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 played minutes Arcoverde got a freekick which was hit by Sidney Rossi. Jairo Ceresso's late challenge caught a Variant 1971's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jairo Ceresso helped the player get up and apologised. Sidney Rossi in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eriberto Chaves, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Anselmo Teixeira took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gláuber Rosado. Gláuber Rosado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. When Variant 1971's Caetano Senna in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arcoverde's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Arcoverde's Sidney Rossi got a free kick in the 91st minute. Albertinho Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Gláuber Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Anselmo Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
