Dobrada's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Fantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Renato do Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernandinho Couto's late challenge caught a Dobrada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernandinho Couto helped the player get up and apologised. Eduardo das Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Murilo Barral made a huge save. Magno Fantini took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Renato do Valle. Paulo Renato do Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 35th minute, Wiliam Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inácio Alagoano to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benjamin Bertassi during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dobrada's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tião Bastos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Tião Bastos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saracura's Eduardo das Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Magno Fantini got free with Paulo Renato do Valle in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Saracura manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Dobrada to win.
