In the 18th minute João Augusto Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saracura's Eduardo das Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Saracura booed when Granja SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute João Augusto Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elder de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Augusto Travassos was the one to do the kick off. Nestor de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Paulo Renato do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dudu Passos's late challenge caught a Granja SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dudu Passos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Saracura's Dudu Passos got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, Saracura's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Travassos came free, but Paulo Renato do Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Renato do Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagoberto Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dudu Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Paulo Renato do Valle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Quirino went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. 69 minutes into the match, Inácio Alagoano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Elder de Barros, 1-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yan Neto during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 75 minutes into the match, Granja SC's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Alagoano came free, but Elder de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inácio Alagoano got his second yellow card in the match during the 76th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Saracura's Paulo Renato do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Travassos in the 93rd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Saracura walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
