After recieving a nice pass, Annapolis SC's Emílio Sousa tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Atlantis getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Olavo Coutinho hit a great ball. If Filipe Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aloísio Ramalho was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 9 minutes into the match. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atlantis! Sidney da Costa went to the wrong direction when Emílio Sousa was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 14th minute, Percy Simões made a precise shot to the right of Narciso Koehler. Annapolis SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olavo Coutinho during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 20 played minutes Atlantis got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Coutinho. Percy Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Jorginho Carvalho in the 29th minute really tested Narciso Koehler's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Atlantis's zone, Dráuzio Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidney da Costa came out of the goal and Dráuzio Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sidney da Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Rodrigues in the 33rd minute of play. Wilian Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Koehler having to interfere. If Filipe Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the game, Filipe Rodrigues cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Sidney da Costa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Percy Simões to make the kick off. Percy Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Annapolis SC's Filipe Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dráuzio Pires who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Sidney da Costa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 61st minute, Annapolis SC's Dráuzio Pires ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sidney da Costa. Sidney da Costa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Percy Simões blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Narciso Koehler having to make a save. Dráuzio Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Sidney da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Annapolis SC defense, Percy Simões kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Narciso Koehler. The Annapolis SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Narciso Koehler should have stopped the shot. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
