Cruzalia EC's Breno Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo da Rocha in the 45th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nando Gerber in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Breno Mello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nando Gerber to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Schmidt in the 59th minute of play forced XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Fernando Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Cruzalia EC's Breno Mello got control of the ball when Carlinhos Ortiz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cruzalia EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nando Gerber was slow to take the kick. During this time XV de Piracicaba's players had a chance to rest. The referee felt a red card was in order, 65 minutes into the game, when Adhemar Cerezo put in a rough tackle. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cruzalia EC! Breno Mello went to the wrong direction when Nando Gerber was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 68 played minutes Cruzalia EC got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal de Mendonça. Fernando Quintal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aníbal de Mendonça went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. 74 minutes into the match, Cruzalia EC's goalkeeper Breno Mello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laércio Cardozo. Breno Mello was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bebeto Pena showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-3 in the 77 minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, XV de Piracicaba's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Schmidt came free, but Fernando Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Rui Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzalia EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 84 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo da Rocha. If Rui Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cruzalia EC's Rui Schmidt in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rui Schmidt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cruzalia EC had won after a very even match.
