When Dráuzio Martins came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Vasco IB fans jumped to their feet. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geraldo Ramos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Breno Mello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Vasco IB getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Didi de Lara hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Ramos in the 59th minute of play forced Vasco IB's goalkeeper Eriberto Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Breno Mello was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Vasco IB's Eriberto Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aníbal de Mendonça in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Dráuzio Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Josué Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, Vasco IB's goalkeeper Eriberto Neiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelinho Vianna. After 86 played minutes Vasco IB got a freekick which was hit by Dagoberto Braga. 93 minutes into the match, Aníbal de Mendonça dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eriberto Neiva, 1-1. Vasco IB were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
