The referee ignored XV de Piracicaba's protests and gave Laércio Cardozo a yellow card for diving instead. Dinei Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Quintal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dinei Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. João Augusto de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Augusto de Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. João Augusto de Souza hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute Laércio Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glauco Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, THZ's Dinei Rocha ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fernando Quintal. Fernando Quintal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dinei Rocha was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Fernando Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Nascimento in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pedro de Lima in the 58th minute of play forced XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Fernando Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Dinei Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dinei Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, XV de Piracicaba's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro de Lima came free, but Fernando Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Pedro de Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Fernando Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Pedro de Lima in the 74th minute of the match. Fernando Quintal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dinei Rocha's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Dinei Rocha notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of XV de Piracicaba's Fernando Quintal. Fernando Quintal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Anderson Netto hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Fernando Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dinei Rocha in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. THZ's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
