Antônio Carlos Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Perez in the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th match minute, Laranjo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Décio Barros to maneuver through the defense. Laranjo EC's Antônio Carlos Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Perez in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Laranjo EC's goal looked a bit too open when Raúl Perez came free, but Antônio Carlos Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Carlos Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute, Vladimir Campidelis made a precise shot to the right of Antônio Carlos Quintal. Laranjo EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 36th play minutes Vladimir Campidelis shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Antônio Carlos Quintal and just under the crossbar into goal. Vladimir Campidelis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antônio Carlos Quintal having to make a save. Raúl Perez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Antônio Carlos Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Raúl Perez came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Nacional Atlético Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Perez couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Nacional Atlético Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimir Campidelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Basílio Passos's late challenge caught a Laranjo EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nacional Atlético Clube's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
