Afonsinho da Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Bertassi in the 12th minute of play. When William Moura fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trojans United's protests and gave William Moura a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, one of Trojans United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Trojans United. The supporters of Albino booed when Trojans United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perivaldo Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elder Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Freire in the 19th minute of the match. Afonsinho da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Bertassi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Rodrigues hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Trojans United got a freekick which was hit by Chiquinho Freire. Jaime Cordeiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elder Galvão came out and tried to block the shot, but Jaime Cordeiro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 42nd minute. If Zézinho Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Zézinho Saraiva made the kick off in the second half. Trojans United's Afonsinho da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Bertassi in the 57th minute of play. With 58 minutes on the clock, Marcus Rodrigues commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 57 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Trojans United! Alan de Azevedo shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 63rd minute, Albino's Marcus de Salles ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Afonsinho da Costa. Afonsinho da Costa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Afonsinho da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eduardo Bertassi's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. In the 71st minute, Zézinho Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonsinho da Costa came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Albino's Marcus de Salles. But to his dismay, Marcus de Salles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Trojans United's Afonsinho da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gildo da Silva in the 89th minute of play.
