The supporters of scain booed when Os Centenários 1901 MZPE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Siqueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, scain's goalkeeper Raí Matos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emílio Carioca. In the 20thth minute of the game Jânio dos Santos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Os Centenários 1901 MZPE's Walmir Torres was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Felix Arlo managed to get in a good position for a shot. scain's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Arlo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmir Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Jânio dos Santos put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Walmir Torres. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jânio dos Santos in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walmir Torres saved Os Centenários 1901 MZPE from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Os Centenários 1901 MZPE's zone, Víðir Hafþórsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Torres came out of the goal and Víðir Hafþórsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Jânio dos Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walmir Torres was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The Os Centenários 1901 MZPE players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. scain were winning 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abel Siqueira to make the kick off. Rodriguinho de Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raí Matos having to interfere. Walmir Torres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jânio dos Santos in the 92nd minute. The Os Centenários 1901 MZPE fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. scain were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
