The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Japurá city getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nilton Sanches hit a great ball. Jarbas Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jânio dos Santos in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarbas Quirino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Jânio dos Santos sped through Japurá city's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jarbas Quirino. Jarbas Quirino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jânio dos Santos's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The Japurá city players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
