Luís Gustavo Vinhas's late challenge caught a PAIA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Gustavo Vinhas helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to ATOMOS FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Luís Gustavo Vinhas hit a great ball. With his leg Didi Carioca managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when PAIA's Alfredão Munhoz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Alfredão Munhoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 12 minutes into the match, PAIA's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Queiroz came free, but Paulão Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdo Queiroz hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Alfredão Munhoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. PAIA's Raúl Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Didi Carioca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raúl Moura in the 27th minute. In the 32nd minute Manfredo Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manfredo Pena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Paulão Bezerra made a huge save. After 54 minutes, Rui Pirani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ATOMOS FC and the PAIA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th minute, Rui Pirani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
