José Paulo Domingues charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Paulo Domingues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Elder Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emílio Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Fernando Ceresso was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 40 minutes into the match. In the 41st match minute, Os Centenários 1901 MZPE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Fernando Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Alan de Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Albino made a substitution. Marcus de Salles replaced Eduardo Bertassi. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcus de Salles made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Os Centenários 1901 MZPE got a freekick which was hit by Abel Siqueira. After 55 played minutes, Albino's Valdemar Cardozo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Walmir Torres came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Albino reached it. Marcus de Salles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmir Torres read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of Albino booed when Os Centenários 1901 MZPE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albino's Gildo da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Os Centenários 1901 MZPE's zone, Marcus de Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Torres came out of the goal and Marcus de Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Walmir Torres came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Albino's Gildo da Silva. But to his dismay, Gildo da Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Tyler in the 84th minute of play forced Os Centenários 1901 MZPE's goalkeeper Walmir Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmir Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Ignacio Tyler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Os Centenários 1901 MZPE's Walmir Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus de Salles in the 98th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Albino had played much better football throughout.
