Paulão Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duda Saraiva in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind PAIA's goalkeeper Paulão Bezerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, Thomás Kroos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulão Bezerra. PAIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomás Kroos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. PAIA's Paulão Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duda Saraiva in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute Duda Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Thomás Kroos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Paulão Bezerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paulão Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duda Saraiva in the 17th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Dalmo Jacinto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulão Bezerra was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. After 21 minutes of play, Fenix's Duda Saraiva made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulão Bezerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! Acácio Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredão Munhoz in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Dalmo Jacinto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Paulão Bezerra, 4-0. A collision led to PAIA getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Henrique Pitta hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Dalmo Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmo Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulão Bezerra was a little too slow when Thomás Kroos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 5-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Duda Saraiva to make the kick off. In the 56th minute Dalmo Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Thomás Kroos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulão Bezerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Paulão Bezerra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalmo Jacinto's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Paulão Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duda Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the game, Fenix's Thomás Kroos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulão Bezerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Jaime de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Henrique Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roman Elivareo, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thomás Kroos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Paulão Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulão Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmo Jacinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Paulão Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomás Kroos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, PAIA's goal looked a bit too open when Thomás Kroos came free, but Paulão Bezerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Fenix players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
