Enéas Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vítor Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The tension between the Vikings Esporte Clube and the Flamengo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, Cristiano Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enéas Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiago Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Vikings Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Rosa came free, but Enéas Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Abreu in the 33rd minute of play forced Vikings Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Enéas Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kléber Vaz's late challenge caught a Flamengo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Conrado Rosa made a kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Flamengo's goalkeeper Adhemar do Vale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vikings Esporte Clube's Enéas Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Délio de Moraes in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Flamengo's José Vítor Abreu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enéas Lopes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Enéas Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Vítor Abreu in the 61st minute. Miguel Hoffmann hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. When the match was over Flamengo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vikings Esporte Clube throughout the match.
