After a defensive mix-up in Piratas's zone, Miguel Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Quintal came out of the goal and Miguel Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 7 played minutes Verdadeira got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Perez. Severino Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Meireles in the 12th minute of the match. Emanuel Meireles scored 0-2 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Severino Quintal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Raúl Tepedino was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Elano Queirós showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 19 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Emanuel Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verdadeira's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Meireles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elano Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. The Verdadeira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Severino Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joélson Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Severino Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joélson Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Verdadeira were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nestor Veloso was the one to do the kick off. When Vintilă Remus came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Piratas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vintilă Remus couldn't finish the play. 1-4 became the score in the 65th minute when Emanuel Meireles elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nestor Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Tepedino having to interfere. After 81 played minutes Verdadeira got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Guimarães. In the 88th minute, Nestor Veloso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Veloso in the 90th minute of play forced Verdadeira's goalkeeper Raúl Tepedino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Piratas's Severino Quintal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Piratas from getting a goal against them. 94 minutes into the match, Piratas's goalkeeper Severino Quintal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Ramos. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Verdadeira walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
